HEALTH AND VISION CARE

Health care is a major expense to the nation’s families. Our goal is to provide eye exams and glasses for children who do not have the financial or familial infrastructure to have a regular well eye exam, or who cannot afford glasses. When considering that 80% of what we learn in school is visual, everyone should make an effort to provide the best possible foundation for the education of our children.

Additionally, we plan to provide access to general practitioners willing to perform well health examinations for those in need of services without health insurance. In the short term, we will negotiate with providers in areas where needs for service exist, but hope to be able to build our own network to provide services in the future. All of this is based on funding, so please ask us how to get involved today!

TECHNOLOGY

After researching the causes of “brain drain” or human capital flight, we plan to launch an initiative to help address the lack of interest in math and science by providing computer equipment and high speed Internet access for students who display a scholastic aptitude for math and science disciplines (as defined by GPA), but who have limited access to technology at home whether due to financial restrictions or limited infrastructure.

By working with local school boards, we will develop a pilot program fitting the desired demographic, and arrange for a group of students in various geographies to receive not only hardware and software, but the training necessary to employ technology to their educational benefit.

In the future, we will also accept applications from non-profit organizations in need of web hosting. This service will be at little to no cost to qualified organizations.

EDUCATION

The foundation of learning is literacy. Without basic reading skills, citizens are limited in what they can accomplish. Strong reading comprehension is necessary to survive. We plan to provide reading instruction to anyone willing to attend. In addition to basic reading, we plan to provide tutoring in many subjects both in person and via live Internet webinars.

Additionally, DIGITAL LITERACY is a growing concern, and by allowing the “technologically challenged” to receive instruction, we hope to eliminate an area of growing concern given the speed at which Americans are aging. Digital literacy is the ability to locate, organize, understand, evaluate, and create information using digital technology. It involves a working knowledge of current high technology, and an understanding of how it can be used. Digitally literate people can communicate and work more efficiently, especially with those who possess the same knowledge and skills.

WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT

Once our organization is funded, we will proceed into this area. By offering courses to all ages (at limited or no cost, we hope to be able to provide training for the jobless (or homeless) to enable participants in the program to gain employment, or change careers. We could provide the actual courses, or we could provide or arrange grant funding to pay tuition at institutes of higher learning.

By making a commitment to helping communities improve opportunities for all of its citizens, we hope to be a catalyst for improving the quality of life in as many geographies as possible. Once this program is launched, we will accept applications for program support which will be evaluated on an individual basis.
