PBA: Most Beautiful Eyes Contest

Prevent Blindness America (PBA) announced that the voting period has now begun to determine finalists for the “Most Beautiful Eyes Contest.” The public is invited to go online and vote for their choice of the child with the most beautiful eyes on the PBA Facebook page, from now until Sept. 30, the organization said. Only one vote per day is allowed vote for each entry.

“We encourage everyone to go on our site and take a look at all of the wonderful photos we have received and vote for their favorites. Then, make sure they come back every day and vote to help that child win a fantastic prize,” said Hugh R. Parry, president and CEO of PBA.

At the end of the voting period, the contestant with the most votes from each state, with the exception of Rhode Island, will advance to the final round. All state winners will receive a free pair of Eagle Eyes Optics Astro and Rocketeer Sunglasses for kids plus a Kids’ Fisher Space Pen. Celebrity judges including former broadcaster Larry King, Pittsburgh Pirate Derrek Lee and NASA astronaut Walter Cunningham will decide the overall, second and third place winners. The three finalists and their families will enjoy a trip to Chicago to attend the PBA Annual Awards Banquet on Friday, Nov. 18, where the overall winner will be announced.

The winner of the Most Beautiful Eyes Contest will receive a $25,000 college scholarship and for one year, will be the face of PBA’s “Star Pupils” program. The second prize winner will receive a $4,000 scholarship, with a $2,000 scholarship for the third place winner. The scholarship prizes are made available by Marchon Eyewear and Advantica, the organization said.
