General Discussion No Comments

The American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) and Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation have recently launched an informational website, VisionAware.org, to educate and assist adults with vision loss.

25 million people in America suffer some sort of vision problem, and  VisionAware.org contains information for those with diagnosed eye conditions, as well as their families, caregivers and health care providers. The new website encourages networking, and provides guidance and tips on living with vision loss for adults of all ages.

“This partnership will strengthen our goal of serving adults who are losing their sight,” said Susan Olivo, executive director, Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation. “For this growing community, it’s paramount for them to know that help is available.”

On the newly launched website, users can find facts about eye diseases and disorders, breaking news and directories of services for the visually impaired. Visitors to the website can also engage social media for additional support.

Be sure to stop by the site, and take advantage of an excellent educational resource.
