VSP Ranks Top 10 Eye Health Cities

General Discussion No Comments

VSP Vision Care has released a list of the top 10 most “eye healthy” cities in the U.S. The ranking indicates those cities whose residents get their eyes examined most frequently. Data for the study was based on the percentage of people who received an eye exam in 2011, who have VSP Vision Care benefits in markets where VSP covers 100,000 people or more.

According to The 2012 Eye Health Index, the most eye healthy cities include Providence, R.I.*; Wichita, KS.; Raleigh, NC*; Birmingham, AL*; Denver, CO; Columbus, OH; Dayton, OH; San Jose, CA; Oklahoma City, OK; and Sacramento, CA. An asterisk indicates that the city’s surrounding area was included in the tabulation.

If you live in one of the “healthy” cities … Congratulations! If not, be sure you are visiting an eye doctor annually to protect your eyes and those of your family from risk. Check out the complete article at Vision Monday.
